Why are there two warranties with solar panels?
Solar panel warranties have been divided into two warranty criteria by manufacturers since the old BP Solar days. In the simplest terms possible the two solar panel warranties are as follows;
The most important is the Product Warranty. Product warranties guarantee the overall solar panel integrity over time when installed to manufacturer specifications.
The second warranty is often the Performance Warranty. Solar panel manufacturer performance guarantees stipulate a nominated performance degradation over time when subject to an installed environment.
Consumers should read their preferred solar panel warranty document to understand the particular manufacturer-issued warranty in detail.
As with any product, solar panels and their reasonable life expectancy is subject to Australian Consumer Law.
Why is Temp COEF important to consider?
Temp COEF short for Temperature Coefficient is the percentage at which the performance of a solar panel reduces beyond the modules Standard Test Condition (STC) temperature point (eg 25oC).
That means, as the cell temperature increases, the power being output by the solar panel will decrease by a nominated percentage.
Therefore, as a general rule of thumb, the lower Temp COEF value, the better performance one can expect on a hot sunny day.
What is the difference between P-Type and N-Type monocrystalline?
Both are monocrystalline cells, however, P-Type cells are Positively charged through boron doping and N-Type cells are Negatively charged through phosphorus doping.
N-Type mono silicon cells posses a slight efficiency advantage over P-Type mono silicon and therefore is present in most high-end modules competing in the superior efficiency race.
What is HJT cell technology?
