REC Solar to many is not necessarily a household name. However, this Scandinavian (BNEF Tier-1) brand is more than entrenched and respected amongst solar enthusiasts. Since exceeding expectation with an Intersolar innovation award in 2015 for the remarkable REC TwinPeak range, more and more researched individuals have begun demanding REC Solar panels.

INSIDE!

Entrenched in solar module research, you’ve started to come across one name in particular. A name respected by installers, has a high level of customer satisfaction and continues to turn heads on the innovation front within the last decade.

There no doubt REC Solar panels are worth a second and even third look for your solar project. But why so? The essential need-to-know information below.

Discover the detail. Get your copy of the latest Perth Solar Warehouse Solar Price list delivered direct to your inbox.

Which to avoid?

With so many great 60-cell REC solar panels available, selecting the bigger and heavier 72-cell variant on a residential installation isn’t advisable.

Yes, a higher wattage solar panel seems excellent. However, the 72-cell REC solar panels still occupy the same footprint (surface area) as a system comprised of the lower wattage 60-cell variants. In 95% of residential installations, the negatives of installing 72-cell solar panels far outweigh the positives.

Avoid the temptation of the higher watt-class. Dimensions and efficiency is the key to truly high-powered REC solar panels. Selected older 60-Cell REC solar panels which are still available, are excluded from REC’s new extended warranty. For such are also detailed below.

Which to consider?

The fact that you are already considering REC solar panels as an option means you’re on the right path to some serious long-term solar satisfaction. Eliminating ageing and 72-cell/144 half-cell solar module variants in most instances is the next step for residential installations.

Now for the selection. Many people are now attracted to REC’s new extended warranty (explained below). With this in mind, REC’s extended warranty has two critical criteria for eligibility. One of which is the solar panel be derived from REC’s premium solar module range. Those particular options are below.

What is the warranty?

Now one of the elite players in the full 25-year warranty market, there is something a little more desirable about REC’s new extended 25-year warranty as opposed to the others.

This is the big one. 20-years base product integrity warranty, extended to 25-years if installed by an REC Professional Installer upon registration (premium REC panels only). What does this mean for you? Higher chance of the product warranty adhering manufacturer specifications. Remember if any solar product is not installed to manufacturer guidelines, there is no warranty. Forget what is printed on the box.

Where are they made?

Maintaining its strong European heritage, REC remains a listed company on the Oslo Stock Exchange. In 2010 after considering 200 possible global locations, REC nominated Tuas, Singapore as its new centralised global manufacturing hub.

Renowned as one of Asia’s most evolved commercial centres, Singapore is strategically located to ensure ease of global distribution. Emersed in a society which understands the importance of maintaining high-quality standards.

A move which continues to ensure the REC name is synonymous with quality a decade later.
