Who we are
Perth Solar Warehouse (also known as PSW Energy) provides energy services and self-generated energy solutions. We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your personal information secure.

What we collect
We may collect personal information needed to provide services, including:

  • Identity & account data: account names, account numbers, billing details.
  • Contact & service details: name, email, phone, service address.
  • Return payment information: bank account or card details (only where necessary).
  • Energy data: meter identifiers, energy consumption and smart meter telemetry.
  • Other: correspondence, preferences, and any other information you provide to us.

Why we collect it (purposes & legal basis)
We use your information to:

  • Deliver and bill for energy services and manage your account (contractual basis).
  • Process payments and prevent fraud (as per contractual/legal requirements).
  • Operate, maintain and improve energy system services and analytics (legitimate interest/consent where required).
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (legal basis).
  • Communicate with you about your account, service updates and safety notices (contractual/legitimate interest).
    Where required by law or contract, we will obtain your consent (for example, for specific uses of high-granularity smart meter data and marketing purposes).

How we protect your information
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to safeguard your data. This includes encryption, strong access controls, secure storage, monitoring, and staff training. When handling payment cards, we adhere to applicable standards (such as PCI requirements) and utilise tokenisation or trusted payment providers whenever possible.

Energy system data privacy
Energy system data can reveal household patterns. We collect and store meter telemetry only as needed. High-granularity data is protected, pseudonymised for analysis when possible, and retained no longer than necessary. We will conduct privacy risk assessments for new meter programs and provide clear notices where additional consent is required.

How long we keep your data
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Typical retention periods: billing and financial records for the life of the account, plus up to 7 years. Smart meter raw data is retained for a business-justified period (e.g., 1–5 years) and then aggregated or deleted where possible. Ask us for specifics about your records.

Your rights
Subject to verification and legal limits, you may: access, correct, delete, request portability of your data, restrict processing or object to certain uses (including marketing), and withdraw consent. To exercise rights, contact our Privacy Team (details below). We will respond within applicable legal timeframes.

Breach notification
If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will take prompt action to contain it and, when required by law, notify affected individuals and regulators without undue delay.
