Choose your home battery
Ranging from $300 to $800 per kWh, after the available state and federal rebates, home batteries are now a viable electricity bill relief solution. Added features, such as blackout protection options, are a bonus.
Your ideal battery
Influencing your ideal solar battery: (1) Storage capacity, (2) Blackout protection, (3) Solar generation, and (4) Energy management features. Refine your choice through two primary categories: AC or DC-coupled batteries.
Scenario A
You have nothing, wanting solar and maybe even energy storage. Options:
1) AC & DC batteries are an option. All-in-one batteries integrate the best of both.
2) Install solar now and ensure a hybrid inverter for improved future battery flexibility.
Scenario B
You have an existing solar-only energy system without a hybrid inverter. Options:
1) Select an AC battery or replace your inverter with an all-in-one battery.
2) Replace your existing inverter and add a hybrid inverter with a DC Battery.
Scenario C
You have an existing solar-only energy system with a hybrid inverter. Options:
1) Choose your compatible DC battery for the DC input of the inverter.
2) Replace your existing inverter with an all-in-one battery or add an AC battery.
AC & All-in-one batteries
1) You have an existing solar energy system, or
2) Your are looking for an elite level home energy ecosystem as part of a new design with solar panels.
Supply chain and the global competitiveness lithium cell technology affects a relative energy density value among all options. However, feature sets, brand bankability, broader ecosystems and software capabilities more often differentiate product options and price.
AC-coupled batteries offer more expansive features that may improve overall value ahead of comparing energy density/cost-per-kWh, alone.
Always be aware a systems feature set vs your expectations when comparing AC and DC coupled batteries.
DC Batteries
Perth Solar Warehouse provides six leading DC-coupled batteries ideal for popular hybrid solar inverter brands connected to the Western Power/Synergy energy network.
Guides:
We’re generating buying guides to assist customers in researching these leading DC-coupled battery brands: Sungrow, BYD, Goodwe, Growatt, and iStore.
You have an existing solar energy system with a compatible hybrid inverter that you would like to add simplified storage capacity to.
OR, you are installing a new solar energy system and want to increase solar capacity above STC and grid limitations [Note: selected AC-coupled batteries are now also approved achieve a similar oversizing loophole].
The most significant appeal of DC-coupled batteries is the cost-per-kWh when increasing energy density. This improved storage affordability comes at the expense of reduced features.
DC coupled solar batteries provide the best value cost-per-kWh for energy storage. However, this is often balanced out when considering additional hardware in hybrid inverter costs and blackout protection features if required.

Frequent questions: Batteries
Is Perth Solar Warehouse an approved WA Residential Battery Scheme Vendor?
Yes.
Perth Solar Warehouse is listed under our broader regions trading name, PSW Energy, as an approved WA Residential Battery Scheme Vendor.
Can I claim both state and federal battery rebates?
In most instances yes.
Our battery prices have already factored both battery rebates with the advertised price your base out-of-pocket price depending on installation criteria. Should your scenario prove ineligible for either rebate, we’ll advise you during the quoting process.
WA Battery rebate eligibility requires users to partake in a nominated VPP (Virtual Power Plant program) for a minimum of 2 years. Customers should strongly consider the terms and conditions before accepting.
What are the additional installation costs with leading brand batteries?
Factors affecting total system costs include power supply, installation complexity, material, time, access, safety and travel. We’ll always clarify any additional installation costs during the quoting stage.
A complete list of our additional costs accompanying the PSW product range can be found here: See Battery, Additional installation costs ›
Does Perth Solar Warehouse install other battery brands/models?
These battery options are brands and models our installation technicians are well versed in. When it matters most, our aftercare and technical support can rapidly advise solutions through frequent interaction. Your journey is our priority.
